I have successfully cooked two dishes in my slow cooker in the past two weeks. One was BBQ pork - shredded for sandwiches. YUM! And a dish with chicken, tomatoes and mushrooms, which we ate with garlic bread. YUM!
I have been wanting to use, and love, my slow cooker since I bought it, but just couldn’t figure out what to do with it. And, I’ll admit, I have been too impatient. Rule #1 - No checking on the progress. You must leave the lid ON.
My mom gave me a recipe for lasagna for the slow cooker, and I will have to try that out too.

I’ve been working on loving my slow cooker too. I think part of my problem was using it on the weekend, and we would be home to smell the cooking process the entire time. Our beef was that the outcome was never as good as what we had been smelling all day (too much anticipation) so now I use it during the week. Also, my mom swears by browning the meat first to bring out the flavor. I have a great chicken curry recipe for the slow cooker if you’re interested!

I made a super awesome soup in my crock pot over the weekend, and if you want the recipe, I’ll gladly forward it. I am in love with my crock pot, for serious.

I’ve heard about making lasagna in the slow cooker and have wondered how that “works.” Let me know! I have one and hardly ever use it.

Jennifer - the big hint that got me started - go to the spice packet section of your grocery store. They have some packets marked for “slow cooker”. Recipe is right on the back! I was happily surprised. Very easy, minimal ingredients, tastes great! Start there.
